Champion Rossgay Roddie (1987- 2001)

Roddie was our first beagle and has had a great influence on our lives, teaching me to handle in the show ring and giving me an insight into correct conformation, movement & construction right from the start.

Roddie won 5 Challenge Certificates and 4 Reserves.  Amongst his greatest achievements was winning The CC and Best in Show at the Beagle Club in 1992 and later the same year he became the first beagle  to win the Viscount Chelmsford Memorial Stakes Competition for Champion Dogs  at the Houndshow

Ryder was highly successful in the show ring, often handle by Julie he was awarded 4 Reserve Challenge Certificates, Best in Show at the Beagle Association Open show 1995, Best in Show Scottish Beagle Club open show 1990 and several best in shows at general open shows including Wigan & District Canine Society which led to my invitation to join their committee. 

Zoe is our first bitch  she was sired by Ch Rossgay Rambler a Roddie son, and shows all Roddie's traits and characteristics.  Zoe gained her Stud Book Number in 1999 and has won several Best of Breed at Open shows including Best Puppy in Breed at Houndshow Open Show 1997 .

Zoe has now become our foundation bitch having produced Roddwood Willow by Ch Storm Away of Dialynne.

Willow started her show career very well by qualifying for Crufts 2002 in her first puppy class at a  Championship Show, Houndshow  29 July 2001, and gained second place in the Junior Bitch class at Crufts 2002.   Willow has continued to do very well in the show ring, and has now produced her first litter (May 2004) sired by Rossgay Rigsby JW .
